Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will take place on the evening of Monday August 24th, 2009 in the Palace of the Rectorate of the University of Turin. Drinks and a light buffet will be served. This event is included in the registration fees of participants, students and accompanying persons.

How to reach the Rectorate from the Politecnico: take tram number 10 (bus stop opposite side of the Politecnico entrance) and get off at Porta Susa railway station. Cross the road and take bus number 56 or tram number 13. Get off at "Via Po" bus stop (first stop after Castello Square).

A social dinner is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2009 and will be a unique occasion to taste “sound” typical Italian food and wine. The dinner will take place at the Sermig, a former weapon factory that in 1983 became the so called “Arsenal of peace”: a meeting place for young people, for solidarity and assistance, for silence and prayers, for different cultures and religions.

How to reach the Sermig from the Politecnico: take TRAM number 10 (bus stop opposite side of the Politecnico entrance) and get off at Porta Susa railway station. Change here for BUS number 10 and get off at "Fortino" bus stop. Cross the bridge in front of you then turn right. Walk along the river until you reach the following bridge. Turn right again and you fill find the Sermig. Otherwise you can take bus number 12 (bus stop number 379 between Corso Duca degli Abruzzi and Corso Einaudi) to "Borgo Dora".
