Turin is easy to reach by plane, car and train.


BY PLANE

Turin international airport 'Sandro Pertini' is located 16 km north-west of the town centre at Caselle. For comprehensive information on flight timetables and companies, and travel to and from the airport, please visit the website

Turin airport is one hour and 15 minutes flight away from Rome, one hour and a half from Paris and Frankfurt and two hours from London.
Low cost companies flying to and from Turin Caselle are Ryanair and Easyjet.

You can also travel to Turin via Milano's Malpensa airport.
A shuttle bus from the airport will take you directly to Turin in about two hours, tickets cost EURO 18.00. Or you can take a bus from the airport to Milan central station and then a train to Turin: the bus costs EURO 5.50 and the train EURO 8.75 (second class) or EURO 13.95 (first class) - prices are subject to change. Taxi
Licensed taxis are for hire outside the Passenger Terminal, immediately in front of the domestic /EU arrivals, Ground Floor- Level Zero. Taxis cost approximately Euro 35/45 (plus luggage) to reach downtown Turin and travel time is 30/45 minutes.

Train connection to Turin
From the railway station at 140 metres from the airport, trains connect the Caselle Airport to the Dora Railway Station in Via Giachino 10 (not very central). Tickets cost Euro 3,40 and entitle also to use Turin public transport for 70 minutes. Bus lines connecting the station to the city centre are line 11 and 52 (to Porta Nuova Station) and 10 (to Porta Susa Station) and the trip takes about 20 minutes. BY TRAIN

BY CAR

Turin is connected via motorway to most major European cities: Milan in 60 minutes (140 km), Genoa in 90 (170 km), Nice (220 km) and Geneva (252 km) in two and a half hours, Lyon in three hours and Zürich in four.
An extended highway system connects Turin to the most important national and transeuropean network system:
• A4 Torino-Milano-Venezia
• A5 Torino-Ivrea-Aosta and Mont Blanc Tunnel
• A6 Torino-Fossano-Ceva-Savona
• A21 Torino-Asti-Alessandria-Genova
• A21 Torino-Asti-Alessandria-Piacenza

TRANSPORTS IN TURIN

Public Transportation System
A very efficient public transport network serves Turin, with buses and trams crossing the city from 05.00 to midnight. The underground runs from west to east. Tickets for buses, trams and the underground can be bought at tobacconists, newsagents and other places exhibiting a special GTT sign: ask your hotel for the nearest. There are various ticket possibilities: an ordinary GTT urban ticket valid for 70 minutes; a block of 15 tickets, etc.

Taxis
Every city district has at least one taxi rank, and it is also possible to call or reserve a taxi.

The GTT (Gruppo Torinese Trasporti) organises a transport service for the disabled using taxis: tel. (+39) 011.581.16. Taxis can be called by phone and the porters at the hotels can help participants to get one. All taxis have taximeters.

Drive around Turin by car
If you reach Turin by car, you will find many paying car parks to move freely.
In all the city centre and in the most part of neighbouring streets there is Pay and Display parking, the BLUE ZONE, with hourly costs varying from 0.50 to 2.00 euro, according to the area. It is possible to buy parking vouchers from automatic machines on the streets, authorised shops and tobacconists.
In the city of Turin there are some “Limited Traffic Zone” (ZTL) closed to traffic on defined days, hours and special occasions.

NEW! Leaving Turin after the congress
Please note that due to the heavy summer holiday traffic, public transports might be overcrowded and taxi sharing among congress participants might be the best solution to leave Torino and reach the airport.
If you take the taxi from city center (only ZTL area) the fare to the airport will be fixed (€ 30,00), from other city areas all taxis will have taximeters and the fare would be between 30,00 and 45,00 euros.
